ello. My name is Catfish. Thank you for visiting my page about Gibson Guitars. I have been playing Gibson guitars for 12 years. I started with a Gibson Studio Les Paul in 1993 and a couple years later, was fortunate enough to come across my 1978 Les Paul Custom Black Beauty with 3 pickups. I fell in love at that moment with Les Paul Customs and I currently own one of the few Gibson Custom Shop Black Beauty Custom Mastertone Les Paul guitars.

In the following pages of the site, I will be writing reviews for all production model Gibson electric guitars and some of their Gibson Custom Shop offerings. I have had the pleasure of selling Gibson guitars while working at Guitar Trader in San Diego as well as Guitar Center (although I worked Pro Audio at Guitar Center so I seldom sold a Les Paul there, maybe one in 3 years). But I sold a ton of them while I was working at Guitar Trader. And bought a couple too. In the Les Paul section I will be covering the differences between the Les Paul Custom, the Les Paul Classic, the Les Paul Standard and all the various Les Paul models as well as adding pages later about the Gibson SG, the Gibson Explorer, the Gibson Flying V and some of their acoustic guitars as well. I love Gibson guitars because they seem to have better bass response than most guitars and they have a great feel to them that is really solid (which a strat or an ibanez just doesn't have in my opinion). But the biggest reason I play Gibsons is just because of the overall tone of the guitar when you crank it up through a Marshall. It's the sound of ROCK. It's been my experience that nothing sounds like a Gibson and for the style of music that I play, I prefer them to all other electric guitars. That's why I have invested in their instruments.
