Hello.
My name is Catfish. Thank you for visiting my page about
Ibanez guitars. During my 7 years of selling guitars I was
able to play almost every Ibanez known to man..lol. From
the Joe Satriani to the Steve Vai, the Gem series, the Universe,
all the lower production models and of coarse every RG style
guitar. Now of coarse I make no secret that I primarily
play Gibson and Fender guitars. For my style, the very flat
neck of the Ibanez and the locking trem system has always
steered me away from owning one. But I recognize that that's
a stylistic choice and is not a reflection of the quality
of these instruments. I think Ibanez guitars are an excellent
choice for two types of people. Beginners who find that
the ultra comfortable neck (most newer guitarists like the
flat easy to play Wizard style necks) makes it easier to
execute their leads and for the intermediate to advanced
guitarist that knows that the tonal characteristics of the
instrument match the style that they are pursuing. I mean
obviously Ibanez guitars work exceptionally well for people
like Vai, Satchmo, John Scofield, Marten Hagstrom of Meshuggah,
etc. And they are sponsoring Ozzfest 2004 so they gotta
be cool! But seriously, I have always liked the RG series
guitars although I don't use a floating trem. They have
some great pickup combinations and in that price range I
have always felt that they were a good value.
I have sold many Ibanez guitars over the years and most
people who play them, adore them. They are very versatile
and with the numerous models that they produce, they usually
have a great, affordable instrument that will fit your style.
If Gibson's are out of your price range and Fender's don't
have enough power for ya, try an Ibanez, especially if your
playing metal. Also I recommend experimenting with some
different pickups, especially for the lower production models.
You can take an $80 pickup and put it in a $300 guitar and
get some pretty impressive results for those on a tight
budget.
Once
again, I put this page together as a recommendation for
Ibanez guitars because I think that for many of the people
playing metal music and especially beginners that want a
very comfortable neck, Ibanez guitars are a great value.
Again if you want to buy an Ibanez guitar online, my first
recommendation would either be Musiciansfriend.com or Guitar
Trader. They both offer a 45 Day Satisfaction Guarantee
and 45 Day Lowest Price Guarantee. And when you purchase
an Ibanez from any of the links on this page, you support
DAMA and our upcoming CD release. Thanks for visiting and
good luck buying your next Ibanez guitar.
