I think that for the most part, when properly setup, Martin guitars have consistently provided deep, warm sound full a full base response. Obviously every acoustic is different and there are many Taylor guitars that I love as well. One important thing to note about the differences between Martin and Taylor guitar. The Taylor is usually going to excel in playability, meaning that, the action (how far the strings are away from the fretboard) is going to be more like what you would expect from an electric guitar. Taylors are famous for how well they play. However, it has been my experience that the Martin exceeds the Taylor in quality of tone. Martin guitars tend to resonate better and have a more full tone and usually have better bass response in my experience. Obviously all guitars are different and both Martin and Taylor make fine acoustic guitars. Either way you go you will be happy. Having said that, I perfer to buy Martin guitars.
