Musiciansfriend.com - The
Musicians Friend
www.MusiciansFriend.com
Hello.
My name is Catfish. Thank you for visiting my page about
Musiciansfriend.com. I have been playing guitar for DAMA
since 1991. During that time, I have been fortunate enough
to know about musicians friend magazine and more recently,
www.musiciansfriend.com. I say fortunate because I have
saved a lot of money from both using the service as well
as using their pricing as a baramoter for the fair market
value of an instrument.
When I first started working in music stores
in 1990, the music retail industry was very different than
it is today. Back then, I worked at Guitar Center San Diego.
There were no price tags on any of the electric and acoustic
guitars, bass guitars or amps and if you asked for a price
you were lucky to get the list price. Unless you had a relationship
with a sales person, 9 times out of 10, the only way you
could tell what the real price of a guitar was, was to hand
a salesperson a few hundred bucks and after a talk with
the manager, they would decide how much more money to try
and get from you.
LOL ! Those were funny days. Thankfully
and to their credit, Guitar Center took a more customer
service and big business retail approach to their business
and 15 years later, buying a guitar is a much easier process
(but still not that easy :) . But in those days, the best
place to look to see what something would really cost was
to look in the Musicians Friend mail order catalog. People
that knew what was up, knew about Musicians Friend.
With the coming of age of the internet,
MusiciansFriend.com
was born and now all the great prices are right there online.
Of coarse, Guitar Center being smart, has since bought them.
But now more than ever, their pricing is a good indication
of the national average pricing because of the amount of
sales that they do. And the fact that they are tied to Guitar
Center ensures that they can buy in BULK! So if your looking
to buy a guitar, bass, amp or musical equipment of any kind,
check out www.musiciansfriend.com . And when you purchase
through our links, you help support the making of our next
album. Thanks!
